Russia’s largest annual festival of Bach music held in Yekaterinburg since 2011. A meeting place for distinguished interpreters of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music and performers, passionate about the Baroque art. Every year the festival elaborates on a new theme related to the composer's work. The 2022 edition is dedicated to Bach and French music. The concert programme will include famous and less known works by J.S. Bach, and French music, represented by the works of his contemporaries and composers of the 19th-20th centuries, who highly appreciated Bach’s composing achievements.

Bach wrote many compositions under the influence of French musicians, at that time very fashionable and popular throughout Europe. It is equally interesting to research the reverse influence of Bach's heritage on French composers of subsequent eras.

The festival is an opportunity to listen both to the music by Bach, and the works of his contemporaries from France, as well as French composers of a later time, for whom he was an iconic model.

Bach's music is universal: it can sound at all times of the day, at any season, on any instrument and in any acoustic conditions. In this, its unique nature resides.
